报告说，19日有1艘杂货船驶入海峡，1艘油轮和1艘货船驶出海峡，较前一日减少32艘，出现断崖式下降，反映出18日袭船事件的“持续威慑效应”。另据英国媒体20日援引航运数据报道，霍尔木兹海峡航运“几乎完全停滞”。

温沃德公司的报告还记录了18日4艘船只在霍尔木兹海峡附近遇袭情况，袭击事件没有造成人员伤亡。

根据国际海事组织官网消息，截至20日已确认相关海域发生25起袭船事件，造成10名海员死亡。国际海事组织发言人20日说，霍尔木兹海峡附近海域局势依然动荡多变，附近船舶应保持“最高等级戒备”，在未获得安全保障情况下切勿冒险行动。

伊朗18日称，因美国“屡次违背承诺”，伊朗恢复控制霍尔木兹海峡船只通行。美军中央司令部19日说，美军当天向一艘试图突破封锁、驶往伊朗阿巴斯港的伊朗货船开炮，使其失去推进动力，美海军陆战队员随后登上并控制这艘船。
