“为什么大模型出现在美国？”周鸿祎说，我国企业家更注重长期主义，解决自己的被限制的问题。美国将人类所有的知识用到大模型里，运用“暴力美学”，大力出奇迹，产生了ChatGPT。
周鸿祎表示，但是目前人们对ChatGPT有很多争论，很多人不相信大模型有真正的突破，我做了20年的搜索引擎，大模型的出现是一次“真AI”的突破，是真的人工智能，这次确实是“狼来了”，ChatGPT第一次让电脑把人类的知识和语言完整了解，推理。人类跟动物最大的差别，是人类用语言描述世界，而ChatGPT代表机器理解了世界的模型。
